Twitter's Cofounder on Creating Opportunities
Twitter Inc. cofounder Biz Stone emphasizes the importance of manufacturing opportunities, rather than waiting for the right circumstances. Not only is this the primary characteristic of entrepreneurship, but it is especially critical for start-up companies. He also credits mentors along his career path with providing not only long-term friendships but support for new and/or different ideas. Once Twitter was formed, Stone paid attention to the development of corporate culture so that it would foster communication as well as innovation - communication being, he feels, as the key function that a chief executive officer has.
