The Peace and Security Council of the African Union concludes a three-day Retreat in Rabat, Morocco, on the Theme: “Strengthening the work of the Peace and Security Council on Conflict Prevention and Peace consolidation in Africa”

Rabat, Morocco, 26 June 2019: In line with its mandate to promote and enhance peace, security and stability in the Continent, and at the invitation of the Kingdom of Morocco, the African Union (AU) Peace and Security Council (PSC) held its 12th Retreat in Rabat, from 24 to 26 June 2019. The Retreat, chaired by Ambassador Dr. Brima Patrick Kapuwa of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Chair of the PSC for the month of June 2019, was officially opened by His Excellency Mohcine Jazouli, Minister Delegate to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Morocco, in charge of African Cooperation.  The Director for Peace and Security, Dr. Admore Kambudzi, delivered a statement on behalf of the Commissioner for Peace and Security of the African Union, Ambassador Smaïl Chergui.
